Bad news for the Gogglebox favourites

Scarlett Moffatt has been riding a wave of success since winning I’m A Celebrity but her triumph has brought some bad news for Gogglebox fans.

It’s been confirmed that the TV star and her parents will no longer appear in the hit Channel 4 show, with reports claiming they’ve been DROPPED because Scarlett is now too famous.

‘The Moffatt family will not be appearing in this series,’ a spokesperson for Channel 4 has said. *sob*

Scarlett, 26, and her parents Betty and Mark had always been a popular edition to the fly-on-the-wall series since joining the cast in 2014.

In fact it was Scarlett’s witty remarks whilst critiquing telly with her fam that won over fans and put her on her path to fame.

Now though she’s too much of a celeb to appear on the series and TV bosses aren’t keen on keeping her parents on without her.

‘The whole premise of Gogglebox is normal people commenting on the TV,’ an insider tells the Mirror. ‘Scarlett is now a celebrity in her own right so it made sense she wouldn’t continue.

‘She and her parents came as a package. It wouldn’t work so well without all three of them.’

So they’ll be no more of the Moffatts reviewing what’s on the box from their sofa in Bishop Auckland and this has left viewers seriously upset.

‘Oh what a shameful decision,’ one shocked fan commented on Twitter, whilst another remarked: ‘that’s appalling !’

One vented their anger by simply Tweeting several angry face emojis. Meanwhile one blasted the programme for dropping the clan based on Scarlett’s rising profile…

‘too famous? What a sh*te way to dropped a family that no offence to the others, made that show for me,’ the disappointed fan said.

The Moffatts haven’t been letting this get them down though. Scarlett joined little sister Ava for some family time over the weekend and shared some cute photos from the outing.

‘Sister day with @ava_moffatt #sister #family #love,’ the TV star captioned a montage of snaps.

Scarlett also took to Instagram to wish her dad a happy birthday last week and praised him as the ‘greatest dad in the world’. Awww.

Things really didn't go to plan for the show's return

Ant and Dec had viewers up and down the country excitedly tuning in for the return of Saturday Night Takeaway this weekend.

The comeback show didn’t quite go to plan though and was quickly thrown into chaos by a series of pretty awkward gaffes!

Ant and Dec’s contract says they ‘CAN’T work later than 11.30pm’!

In fact the errors started within minutes of it all kicking off when a sketch involving shooting Stephen Mulhern out of a cannon (well, pretending to – OBVS) totally backfired.

The flash and smoke effects went off before the presenter was able to dive back down into the cannon, so it kind of ruined the illusion that he’d been fired through the back of the studio. Oops.

‘Didn’t go quite as well as planned that, did it?’ Ant quipped afterwards.

Dec then jokingly added: ‘Not like in rehearsals, was it?’

LOLs. Unfortunately it wasn’t the only thing to be awry in the show – Dec ended up stumbling over his words during an announcement, and later on the presenting duo were forced to apologise after a viewer was seen mouthing a swear word during a competition segment.

The camera showed the female watcher getting a bit overexcited and saying ‘oh f*** off’ about winning a trip to Disney World in Florida. Eek!

Dec went on to say: ‘Have to apologise in case anybody got a bit excited on the video there and may have said something they didn’t mean to – have to say very sorry for that.’

New presenter Scarlett Moffatt’s debut on SNT didn’t go without its glitches either.

The Gogglebox star was sent out on a mission to find some viewers waving at their windows in their home, meaning they’d be in with a chance of being helicoptered into the studio for the ‘best seats in the house’.

Unfortunately Scarlett couldn’t find anyone in the street she’d showed up in doing this and was forced to knock on the door of a random house.

Thankfully the surprised resident WAS watching the show – but awkwardly left Scarlett on the doorstep when he was getting ready to go.

‘He’s not inviting us in, it’s alright, we’ll just stand out here,’ the Newcastle lass joked before Ant encouraged her to barge in anyway.

The errors didn’t go unnoticed by viewers, with one Tweeting: ‘Ha ha joys of live TV! #SaturdayNightTakeaway #oops’

Another said: ‘I love #SaturdayNightTakeaway buy tonight’s show was a cringe fest of ideas that just didn’t work. Good to know the lads are human I guess’

Yet despite the mistakes, Ant and Dec still managed to win over many viewers.

One admirer posted: ‘Saturday night takeaway had me howling from start to finish! @ScarlettMoffatt was such a good addition #SaturdayNightTakeaway @antanddec’

A fellow fan wrote: ‘Good to see @antanddec #SaturdayNightTakeaway back on tv! They never fail to make you laugh!’

Looks like viewers are definitely in favour of Scarlett’s new job

Scarlett Moffatt has achieved quite a feat in her debut appearance as a presenter on Ant And Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

Not only did the former Gogglebox star win heaps of praise from fans but she also helped the programme to TOTALLY smash the ratings war against its Saturday night rivals.

Ant And Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway hit by AWKWARD gaffes!

SNT achieved an impressive 8.7million viewers at its peak during its return to our screens, easily beating the finale of Gary Barlow’s Let It Shine talent show on BBC which peaked at 4.5million.

Even ITV themselves couldn’t beat the record. The Voice – which aired directly after Ant And Dec’s show at 8.30pm – pulled in an average of 5.2million watchers and peaked at 6.2million. Awkward.

Not only is that something to be proud of but Saturday Night Takeaway’s ratings are their highest in 12 YEARS – definitely something to celebrate!

Perhaps it’s no coincidence that this triumph coincided with Scarlett, 26, making her first appearance on the series.

The Newcastle lass has taken over from former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts as the new co-host and had viewers giggling with her quick wit when she was sent to find fans to bring to the studio on a helicopter.

‘A brilliant addition to takeaway. She’s hilarious,’ one fan praised her on Twitter, whilst another said: ‘you were bloody brilliant – so down to earth and normal – lush to see how well you’re doing – you deserve every success’

In fact the comments have kept on rolling in…

Go, girl! Scarlett is obviously thrilled that she’s gone down well with viewers and has told her Twitter followers: ‘Can’t thank you all enough for your amazing supportive tweets!! I love you all so much, I’ve read them ALL & I’ve been in (happy) tears’

With such a positive response, we wouldn’t be surprised if Scarlett helped SNT’s ratings shoot up even higher in the coming weeks.

It’s fair to say reality star Scarlett Moffatt is doing pretty well for herself.

The former Goggleboxer not only went on to become Queen of the Jungle, but she’s since found herself presenting The National Television Awards and bagged a prime-time spot on Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

Oh yeah and she also released a fitness DVD after dropping an incredible three stone in a few months. Not a bad years work, ey Scar?

But now it looks like the 26-year-old may have just landed herself her biggest job yet – as the host of her very own prime-time show called The Comedy Project.

And as it turns out, the sneaky star has already filmed a secret pilot of the show in front of a live, studio audience at the Pinewood Studios in London.

Joining the newly single star on stage will be a load of comedians, impressionists and improvisers who will hopefully be making us all LOL on a Friday night.

Wait, hold on. Isn’t that the same night as another telly show Scarlett and her family were recently dropped from? Hmm maybe a certain channel is missing her already…

‘Channel 4 feel they created her through Gogglebox and don’t want to lose her to ITV,’ a source revealed to The Sun.

‘She was the first celebrity who they approached to do the pilot for The Comedy Project, which is likely to become a big show for them.’

Although Scarlett and her parents, Betty and Mark, found fame on Gogglebox, the whole family were dramatically cut from the show after Scarlett became TV’s hottest property leaving A LOT of people upset (including us).

Luckily the I’m A Celeb star probably isn’t too bothered considering she absolutely killed her debut on Saturday Night Takeaway winning heaps of praise from fans and also completely smashing the ratings war against the finale of Gary Barlow’s Let It Shine.

And, tbh it wasn’t even close after SNT achieved an amazing 8.7million viewers at it’s peak while the BBC talent show peaked at just 4.5million. Impressive, right?

We can’t say we’re surprised at the northern lass’ success though considering she had us in stitches from the very beginning.

When asked if she’s still planning to have the procedure, Scarlett tells Heat magazine: ‘No. You know what, I feel like that was a phase and that’s over.

‘I don’t need to do anything like that.’

Well we’re totally on board with that – we think you look just lovely as you are, Scarlett!

However, the news comes as quite a surprise turnaround given that Scarlett was so keen to have her chest lifted just a matter of weeks ago.

Shortly after her victory in the I’m A Celebrity jungle, the reality star revealed how she’d been advised in the past to consider having her boobs made smaller to support her back more.

‘Now that I’ve lost weight, and my t*tties are cleaning my shoes, I would like them lifted to where they are meant to be,’ Scarlett told The Sun at the time. ‘When I was bigger I had J-cup boobs and I would get a really bad backache.

‘I was advised by the doctors actually that I should probably get them reduced.

‘It isn’t that it bothers me particularly, but I would just love to be able to not have to wear a maternity bra, and have one that normal people wear. And that is one thing I’m going to look into next year.’

Perhaps former Gogglebox star Scarlett’s insanely busy schedule has influenced her decision to ditch surgery plans.

The Geordie lass has proved a hit with viewers in her new role on Ant And Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and she’s also got lots of other exciting projects in the pipeline, including a presenting gig on a revamped version of cult dating show Streetmate.

Oh, and her fitness DVD Scarlett’s SuperSlim Me Plan is still proving to be hugely popular too.

Scarlett Moffatt reveals shock change to boob job plans after weight loss

Scarlett, 26, released her first book Scarlett Says one year ago and is ready to bring out an updated version charting the HUGE success she’s experienced recently, including winning I’m A Celebrity and launching a popular fitness DVD.

‘Scarlett has been in talks with several publishers to write a new book,’ a source tells The Sun. ‘She knows that some of her ideas from her previous book have changed and she wants to get them down on paper.

‘It has been a rollercoaster few months for Scarlett and she can’t believe how fast things are moving.’

It’s sure been a hell of a ride. Scarlett’s landed herself some pretty major TV jobs since becoming Queen of the Jungle in December, with the Newcastle lass currently popping up on our screens every weekend in Ant And Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

She’s also set to front a revamp of cult 90s dating show Streetmate AND has reportedly filmed a pilot for her very own primetime show called The Comedy Project.

Hell, she’s even been filming a new advertising campaign with Kevin Bacon. Does it get much better?

It’s clearly all been a bit of a dream come true for Scarlett, who found fame by appearing on the Gogglebox sofa with her parents.

Prior to that she had a brief taste of fame when she starred in 2013 MTV reality show Beauty School Cop Outs (where she snogged Jeremy McConnell even though they didn’t particularly like each other – that probably won’t make the book).

Our favourite 90's dating show is making a comeback and we're SO excited

Ever since Cilla Black brought us the original Saturday night match-making programme Blind Date, we’ve all been hooked on the awkward meetings and unexpected hook-ups of dating shows.

A few years on and we’ve seen couples get very flirty in the Love Island villa, be charmed by bearded Maitre D, Fred Sirieix

But now our dating-show prayers have been answered after it was revealed 90’s classic, Streetmate would be returning for a brand new series this year – with Gogglebox fave Scarlett Moffatt as the host. YAY!

The show recently made a comeback for Stand Up to Cancer’s telethon and proved to be such a hit that Channel 4 bosses decided to make another series – so we’ve rounded up EVERYTHING you need to know to make sure you don’t miss a thing.

For those of you who need reminding, Streetmate was the iconic show which saw telly star Davina McCall frantically trawl the streets looking for a random member of the public to set up with another random member of the public… Amazing, right?

And it looks like the 26-year-old is pretty excited about the whole thing as well as she recently revealed: ‘I remember watching Davina on Streetmate when I was younger and thinking females can present entertainment shows too, I want to do that when I’m older.

‘It’s such a fun show and it’s two of my favourite things to do, chat to randomers and a love story.’

Well, following former coach potato Scarlett Moffatt‘s rise to fame since leaving the show, according to The Sun producers are so worried about other cast members following in her footsteps that they’re imposing tough, new rules.

The Daily Star have also reported that the cast – which includes the likes of Jenny and Lee and Giles and Mary – are even thought to be getting new contracts including a clause that stops them from taking on any other work in the public eye.

Geordie star, Scarlett left the popular Channel 4 show in 2016 to enter the I’m A Celebrity jungle and shot to fame when she went on to win the reality programme.

With a new book deal and a lead role on Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway,
as well as a hosting gig on the remake of 90’s dating show, Streetmate (to name a few) there’s no stopping this talented lady.

‘Is that a hint you will be on the next come dancing,’ one follower asked, whilst another wrote: ‘Subtle reference to possibly going on Strictly ???’

Others are desperate for Scarlett to sign up for the show so that we can all see her strutting her stuff.

‘I’d love to go on Strictly but I just don’t think they’d let me on. I’m basically a ringer, as I’ve danced against some of the professionals in competitions when I was younger,’ the Geordie lass explained.

This won’t stop fans from hoping that Scarlett might just pop up on Strictly some day!

But now the Queen of The Jungle has gone and taken her transformation one step further after she revealed a brand new hair colour to her 1.3million followers – and the reality star has gone grey!

Only last week Scarlett confessed she was missing her silver locks by sharing a throwback snap captioned: ‘Ahhhh I want my black grey ombré hair back #throwback #grey #hair’.

Hair extension brand Easilocks, ALSO revealed the dramatic transformation by sharing a before and after snap of Scarlett’s hair – showing just how much of a difference the ombré extensions have made.

And the star’s fans were quick to gush over her new look, with one follower writing: ‘Looks lovely scarlet’, and another adding: ‘STUNNING!!!! @scarlett_moffatt’.

‘Ooohhhhhhh that looks amazing!!!!’ a third said, whilst and fourth added: ‘Hair goals here’.

Scarlett Moffatt has made her debut as a solo presenter on new Channel 4 show Host The Week and the reaction has been pretty mixed…

The Gogglebox favourite presented the madcap show on Thursday night, with the idea being that each week a different celebrity fronts the programme without having had any rehearsals, script or basically any idea of what’s going on. They then find themselves being guided through the show with the help of star guests and improvisers.

Sounds fun, right? Well for many viewers it definitely delivered the laughs and many praised Scarlett, 26, for handling it with aplomb.

Oh dear. Fortunately Scarlett seemed to enjoy herself during the bonkers show – which saw her pull off some dance moves with Steps, go on a ‘blind date’ with Duncan James and dress in tennis whites whilst carrying a giant racquet (we’re still confused by that) – and has focused on the positive response from viewers.

‘Thanks for all the lovely tweets about the show,’ the Geordie lass told her Twitter fans after the programme had aired.

It marks Scarlett’s first time as main presenter of a show, having previously been a co-host of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

Scarlett Moffatt has defended herself after getting criticised for what she gave her 11-year-old sister for her birthday.

The Gogglebox star revealed to her Instagram fans over the weekend that she’d given younger sibling Ava a selection of drag-themed presents, featuring merchandise from the hit TV show RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Scarlett, 26, posted a photo of Ava happily posing with her goodies – including a life-sized cut-out of RuPaul himself – and wrote: ‘When you surprise your little sister on her 11th birthday with everything drag queen related including a life size @rupaulofficial !! #birthday #love #sister’

Despite Ava looking thrilled with her gifts, some of Scarlett’s followers weren’t too sure about her choice of present and deemed it ‘inappropriate’ for a youngster.

‘I ❤️u Scarlett but this is a bit odd for an 11 year old ?’ one Instagram user wrote, before later adding: ‘giving an 11 year old tshirts with Satan on them is a bit more disturbing than the whole drag thing tbh tho’

Another added: ‘Sorry but why would you expose these kinda ideas to children so young’

Meanwhile one commented: ‘So confused why you would do this for an 11year old?’

Scarlett soon hit back though and spoke of how the programme helps her to encourage her sister to stand out from the crowd.

‘me and my parents watch an ep and fast forward any parts that aren’t child friendly! Why is this odd – I tell my little sister to be a fruit loop in a bowl full of cheerios!’ the TV star explained.

‘Why be like everyone else when you have family that support you and love you for you no matter what you like or dislike’

As the debate rumbled on in the comments section, Scarlett was forced to defend herself AGAIN.

‘have you ever been to a pantomime ? I’m sorry but I really don’t understand why you have such a problem,’ she commented.

‘Also I’m taking her to New York to a rupaul drag convention where there is a CHILD AREA- if it wasn’t meant for children why would there be an area specified for them. Let’s just all stay positive and embrace the fact everyone’s different and unique x’

Scarlett has received lots of support from her fans following the row, with many praising her for her comments and choice of presents.

The new look comes as Scarlett gets ready for even more upcoming projects in her already busy schedule.

Recently the reality star has been filming a revamped version of cult dating show Streetmate and is also preparing to release her autobiography very soon, which will doubtless discuss her rise to fame and success following her I’m A Celebrity win last year.

Over the past few months Scarlett has also landed a gig as a co-presenter on Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and fronted a popular fitness DVD after losing over 3stone.

Unfortunately she’s also faced some difficult moments along the way including poor reviews of new Channel 4 show Host The Week which she was the debut presenter of last week.

Sadly the programme – which was based on the concept that a different celebrity would front it each week without having had any rehearsals, script or basically any idea of what’s going on – struggled in the ratings and has been dropped after just one episode.

Scarlett defended herself on Twitter following the news, having written in a Tweet that’s since been deleted: ‘It wasn’t MY show I was the first host on the show??’

And the Queen of The Jungle’s 1.4 million followers were clearly happy to see Scarlett back with her hairdresser beau and were quick to congratulate the couple.

Yup, Richard Cull dated Ms Moffatt for eight months back in 2013 after the duo both took part in MTV show Beauty School Cop Outs – which also starred Jeremy McConnell FYI.

And now the tattooed hunk is back on our telly screens after going through a rocky patch with his GF of three years Sophii Vassallo.

However while 26-year-old Scarlett is now loved up with her on/off beau Luke Croddin, apparently she’s a little bit worried Richard could spill the beans on their past love life – especially after the pair ended on bad terms.

The former Gogglebox star captured the shocking moment on video, as Britney’s security and male dancers leaped to get the man off the stage.

Scar wrote: ‘When some idiot tries to spoil the amazing Britney Spears show’.

Britney was performing her Piece of Me show on Wednesday night at Planet Hollywood, Las Vegas.

The 35-year-old singer was half way through performing her final song of the night, Crazy, when the man ran onto the stage.

Brit has been captured in several of her fans footage looking extremely terrified by the altercation, and was captured asking her team: ‘Is everything okay?’

She has also been seen asking if the man was carrying a gun.

Luckily for the singer her security and male dancers were on hand to ensure her safety.

According to TheDailyMail.com the man in question has since been arrested.

As for Scar, the event didn’t damper her spirits as she has been uploading videos and snaps from her fun filled evening, and even shared one of ‘#queen’ Britney.

And the I’m A Celeb winner has clearly put all of those dodgy throwback pics behind her, as she has been delighting her fans with a string of extremely glamorous pictures from her holiday.
