The Channel Four reality star, who has long entertained viewers with her no-holds-barred comments, furry slipper collection and hilarious tweets, will be joining the radio show, which runs from 6-10am, on Monday 30th November. That’s just four days, people! She will be covering for regular presenter JoJo, who is going on maternity leave.
Speaking to Radio Times about her appointment, she said: ‘I’m a regular listener to Capital Breakfast and I can’t believe I’m actually going to be presenting the show I wake up to each morning!’ Looks like it’s a dream come true!
Capital North East’s Managing Editor Giles Tanner told the publication: ‘We are delighted to have Scarlett joining the team. She’s a local girl with a love for hit music and showbiz gossip – she has already fitted in with the team and we are all excited about Monday’s show.’
Some people are already starting to worry they won’t be able to listen to the show from their local area…however, fear not, fans who live outside of the North East – you can tune in online!
Nor need anyone worry about Scarlett leaving Googlebox, as a Channel Four respresentative has confirmed: ‘Scarlett has told us she is covering a short maternity leave. This is a personal job and not related to her appearance on Gogglebox.’ Pheeeew.

Debuting her new do on Instagram to her 74,000 followers, the 24-year-old wrote: ‘HALF A BLONDIE NOW!! Let’s see if I’ve saying true that blondes have more fun! LOVE MY NEW HAIR! BEST SALON AND HAIR EVER!’
Although she’s surprisingly single at the moment, it seems Scarlett is on the look out for love! Joining forces with North East’s Capital Radio, where she’s been helping present the breakfast show since November, the station has now launched a public appeal to find her a man.
‘It turns out that our Scarlett always picks the same type of men to date… and they ALWAYS end up being total douche bags,’ Capital write on their website. ‘To help try and fix this we want to send YOU on a date with her! To keep it fair, though, we will be turning all of the lights off and sending you into our ‘Pitch Black Love Shack’ so you can try to impress her…So basically it doesn’t matter if you have a face that looks like it’s been hit with a bag of spanners, as long as you can talk the talk your in!’
And now, she’s celebrating another triumph – the bubbly Geordie gal announced that she’s coming out with her first book, chock-filled with bits of Scarlett wisdom, observations and her wonderings about life.
‘OMG CANT BELIEVE IT IVE GOT MY OWN BOOK OUT!! #scarlettsays’, she tweeted excitedly to her 292,000 followers on Thursday afternoon.
After teasing that some big news was on the way earlier this week, many of her fans were waiting eagerly to see what she’d say – and they were not disappointed, with hundreds congratulating her.
A pre-released quote from the book, Scarlett Says, gives us a taste of what hilarity the book will provide us with come 21st April:
‘I don’t go on red carpets. If a photographer ever shouted out “who are you wearing?” I’d be like, “Me mam’s top, me mate Sarah’s jeans and some shoes from the TopShop sale.”‘
She’s not the only Gogglebox cast member who’s managed to turn TV watching into something more – George Gilbey, whose sofa mates are also his mum and dad, took part in Celebrity Big Brother in 2014, and posh wine-enthusiasts Steph and Dom Parker have had spin-off shows and books of their own.

Days after telling her thousands of fans that she’s expanding her job description from professional TV watcher to bona-fide author (or, something along those lines), the Gogglebox star has taken to Twitter to share that she’s currently in a bit of a bad way.
‘Never felt so faint in my life this is awful’, the 24-year-old Geordie gal told her followers, accompanied with sick and wailing emojis. Though she didn’t quite say what’s caused this sickly feeling, it certainly sounds as if she’s in quite a bit of upset.
You’ve gotta feel for Scarlett – being ill is seriously no fun…
Luckily, her fans have been more than forthcoming with solutions for her faint feelings, chipping in with remedies that you could imagine coming straight from a Nanna’s mouth.
‘Low blood pressure? Eat something sweet!’ remarked one helpful fan, while another suggested ‘Hot Irish whiskey’…before an additional follower told her to sink a few beers and a hot curry. Interesting.
Whichever one of these remedies she chooses, wishing Scarlett all the best – maybe she should put on some Gogglebox, we’ve known that to help make many people feel better!

Her new announcement not only debuted the cover of her audio book Scarlett Says – looks absolutely fabulous, by the way – but also unveiled a sexy new look.

She’s famed for saying it how it is while sat on the sofa, and now the 25-year-old Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatthas extended her brutal (yet hilarious) honesty to her favourite magazine.
Discussing her ‘secret’ sibling (who knew she had a 9-year-old sister?) and surgical search for self-acceptance, she tells us: ‘I was always really self-conscious, so I did what I needed to.’ We can’t really argue with that. Following her new found celeb status, the star who is set to release her debut book, Scarlett Says, this month is adamant she won’t take her transformation too far. ‘I won’t go mental with it,’ she confesses, after admitting she’s been dreaming of cosmetic work since the age of 12…
Do you feel pressured to look or act a certain way now you’re famous?
I keep saying I need to make more of an effort… People will be asking me for photos and I haven’t even brushed my hair. I have to ask Siri to put reminders on my iPhone that I have to brush it.
At least your eyebrows always look great!
Oh god I get them done every five days. I get a proper monobrow unless I do. Just look at photos of us as a child and you’ll see. My teeth were so bad as well I could have ate an apple through a letter box.
Have you had veneers now?
Yeah, I have. I’d wanted them for years and got them done when I was 18. When I was younger I smashed my teeth and since I was 12 I’ve been saying: “I want veneers! I want veneers!” I was really self-conscious and never smiled. Now I have these and I’m on the TV I kind of have to smile.
What other cosmetic work have you had done?
I’ve had lip filler about three times now – it’s additive that! That’s another self-conscious thing too but I won’t go mental with it.
What made you get it?
When I used to smile my top lip would disappear and it’d look like I didn’t have one. My dad’s is like that too. So I constantly had to draw my lips on which was no good – I’ve got a dead shaky hand – so I got my lips done and did what I needed to do.
How often do you get them plumped up?
Maybe every year – I won’t take it too far.
Are you planning any more cosmetic work?
No, I’m not after a peachy Kardashian bum or anything. I’m thinking about maybe going blonder. Maybe not my full head though, I’m not sure. Could I pull that off with my eyebrows?
We reckon so! Have you got a man on the go?
[laughs while looking towards a fit male friend who’s with her during our interview] Ummm! I can’t say! I can’t say!
Hmm! You always look like you’re having so much fun while filming; do you have a few cheeky drinks?
I don’t! Everyone always thinks I’m drunk because I’ve got a sparkly wine glass but it’s only got pop in it – I’m never pissed. Not while sat watching Downtown Abbey!
Why doesn’t your little sister, Ava-Grace, ever join you guys on the show?
We asked her and she said no! She’s only just turned nine and even though there’s a 16-year age gap between us we kinda fight. She’d 100% outshine me too. She’s sarcastic, dead funny and proper cute. It wouldn’t be good for my street cred to be losing arguments to her.
What does she do while you’re all filming?
She’ll either be in bed or sit with the crew in another room. She’ll help them move cameras and stuff – basically she’s working production and starting early!
She must love having a famous family though?
You know what? She’s not arsed at all. Sometimes when I pick her up from school the kids will be like: “Ahh!” And she just tells me I’m proper embarrassing.
Do you get lots of young fans screaming at you on the street then?
I actually took her to see Little Mix recently and lots of people kept crowding around us, and she just went: “Oh you always have to make it about you, don’t you, Scarlett?”
She sounds hilarious! What’s it like when you’re getting mobbed?
Everyone’s been really, really, nice so far so I can’t complain – no one’s been arsey.

I’ve known Vicky Pattison for years but she tweets my dad now instead of me!

No [laughs], I don’t think she fancies him! I think she just loves how laid back he is. Me and my mum will be chatting away and he’ll just give us a look and shoot us down and I reckon she likes that. She’s funny and sarcastic just like my dad.
And finally, what are you watching lately?
I’m a massive fan of The Hunger Games movies! I really fancy Josh Hutcherson in it, he’s like the underdog. Liam Hemsworth is too conventionally good looking and fit.

Goggleboxstar Scarlett Moffatt has waded into Vernon Kay’s sexting drama by admitting that she ‘strongly dislikes’ Tess Daly – and she’s on Vernon’s side!
The outspoken TV personality never shies away from giving her opinion, and now, as her book Scarlett Says is coming out, she’s waded into the most high-profile love affair that’s not being blocked by an injunction.
‘There are only two people I really dislike: Tess Daly and Jamie Oliver. They might really dislike me, too, but I’m not arsed, I’m not arsed at all,’ she told Heat.
Okay, fair enough – she’s part of the generation that had turkey twizzlers prised from their sad, school dinner-wanting hands. But Tess Daly?
‘Tess totally ruins Strictly for me. I have to record it, so I can fast-forward through her,’ she adds.
When asked about the Vernon Kay reportedly texting glamour model Rhian Sugden years after being caught sexting her, Scarlett has some sympathy… and some tips: ‘Yeah, I do feel a but bad for her. I’d not let him have a phone. I’d give him a walkie-talkie and say, “This is how me and you can correspond with each other, you don’t need to emssage anyone else.”’
Interesting solution but ultimately, Venon’s the winner: ‘But, to be honest, I really like Vernon. I’m on his side a little bit.’
It’s never boring when the 25-year-old star says something, and this will definitely ruffle some feathers. One thing’s for sure: we are SO looking forward to that book.
Gogglebox‘s Scarlett Moffattis contemplating a complete life overhaul by moving from County Durham to Australia.
The 25-year-old beauty shared her impending plans on her public Facebook page, writing: ‘Anyone fancy moving to Australia with me? I’m serious, honest, let’s do this.’
Discussing her dream of moving Down Under even further, the reality star then replied to friends offering to house her on the Gold Coast, adding: ‘OMG amazing yes I’m 100000% gonna take you up on this offer be mint to see you.’
Does this mean we’ll soon be losing out on our weekly dose of Miss Moffatt’s incredible wit and wisdom on the hit Channel Four show? We hope not!
Away from the front room she’s found fame in, Scarlett is set to release her debut book, Scarlett Says, on April 21. According to her Amazon bio, the book will be ‘unlike any other celebrity autobiography’ you’ve ever read and is described as a ‘hilarious down-to-earth’ read. She’ll even be joining Alan Carr on Chatty Man to discuss the release next week.

Scarlett Moffatt is one of our favourite people to step foot on this green and pleasant land and when she feels down and hurt, it really gets our goat!
So, when we found out the 24-year-old Gogglebox star had been called out for her weight and had been described as someone who ‘probably hasn’t enough brains to keep her bottom cheeks apart’ it was no wonder she has hit back.
This comes after a columnist called her out for doing a good thing by encouraging young teens to make sure they got up off the sofa to avoid the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes. She’d also revealed that during a recent visit to the doctor she had been told her BMI was too high. The columnist wrote that the doctor, ‘…didn’t have the courage to mention her BMB — Bloody Massive Bum.’
So, good on you, Scarlett, for not taking this body shaming lying down.
Thankfully, we all know Scarlett has a fabulous support network of fans and her lovely family, and it seems all the words of encouragement and love has helped her overcome this.

When Now caught up with Gogglebox’s Scarlett Moffatt over the Easter weekend, we noticed she was standing with a VERY attractive man. But, when we asked Scarlett who he was, she went all shy and just giggled, telling us ‘I can’t say’.
Well, we’re a bit nosy over here at Now, so we had a little look around and we FOUND him.
We can confirm Scarlett’s bloke is a fellow Geordie and the couple have been dating since January.

When Now spotted Gogglebox’s Scarlett Moffatt with a very hot man on her arm over the Easter weekend, she was coy when we asked if they were together. But Now can reveal Scarlett is dating the gorgeous mystery bloke, who we can confirm is Luke Crodden – a hairdresser from Newcastle.
‘They have been together quite a while,’ Luke’s granddad tells Now, speaking to us from his home in the Gosforth. ‘I haven’t met Scarlett yet but they are always together and seem really loved up. He’s all grown up now and makes his own decisions but I hope they will both be happy together.’
And we think they are. Sharing pictures of her and Luke online, Scarlett boasted to her friends about top boyfriend skills – including doing her up shoes. ‘He’ll do anything for his girl – true Gentleman,’ one of their mutual friends commented. Scarlett later replied: ‘Well trained is the phrase you’re looking for.’ He’s our ideal bloke.
The gorgeous Geordie, who turns 28 this week, has been dating our favourite Geordie star since the New Year. Showing off his squeeze on Instagram, he proudly writes next to one cute picture: ‘Date Night #Punching’. We think they’re both as lovely as each other.
Last year, Scarlett admitted she was happy being single but said: ‘If anyone nice came along I’d try to make time for them.’ Now it seems like she can’t get enough of him. And we’re not surprised, he seems lovely.

We are all obsessed with social media, but you have to use it appropriately if you don’t want all of your friends to secretly hate you.
Scarlett Says: ‘Please stop posting so many pictures of your kids, stop hastagging dates with #DateNight and don’t use the dislike button to bully someone.’
4) Sometimes mistakes can lead to even better opportunities
You don’t have to be perfect all the time. Take Scarlett, for example, who made a few mistakes in her audition for Gogglebox. The producers would show them pictures of people to talk about, and she made quite the mistake… but look at her now!
Scarlett Says: ‘I thought Nelson Mandela was Uncle Ben the rice man… and young David Cameron was Piers Morgan.’
5) There are tips on how to survive a zombie apocalypse
Her dad is seriously prepared and gives a big hint to readers – stock pile beans. Though her mum is less prepared.
Scarlett Says: ‘Mum would probably volunteer to get bitten to escape the stress.’
6) THIS is how you throw a dinner party
Among all the advice on how Scarlett and her girls get ready, there’s also the secret to a good dinner party. Including inviting Mary Berry to cook the desert.

And so, to pass the time between now and tonight’s episode of Gogglebox (9pm, Channel 4, see you there, bring snacks), we’ve decided to do the clever thing and WORK IT ALL OUT.
After all, we’re not known as the sexier (and indefinitely more delusion) version of Sherlock Holmes for nothing.
So, with the odds and everything because YES to maths, these are our predictions for Scarlett’s surprise. Aren’t we clever special little things?
1. There is a new arrival on the Moffatt sofa. And he’s well famous.
Alan flipping Carr joins the Moffatt clan after the pair became BFFL’s during Scarlett‘s appearance on Chatty Man last night. The camera stopped rolling on Alan’s show and the pair went for some chips and curry sauce. After the seventh battered sausage, Scarlett managed to convince Alan to join her family and star in Gogglebox. They’ve adopted him and will probably do something like this tonight…
2. There is another new arrival on the Moffatt sofa. It isn’t Alan Carr this time.
Okay, so the Alan Carr thing was a little far fetched- he is, after all, a very busy man. Instead Scarlett is joined by her new boyfriend, Luke Crodden. It’ll be like Eve and Silent Jay, but they’ll actually talk.

3. There’s been a bit of a Moffatt relocation.
Scarlett’s book, Scarlett Says, has become a multimillion pound bestseller. JK Rowling is very, very annoyed. Scarlett is very, very happy. She has relocated the Moffatt family to a mansion, probably somewhere near Kim K’s. (They might even have cuppa’s together and talk about Saint’s teething problems). It is, after all, a really cracking read.
Odds: 1/50.
4. We meet Scarlett’s little sister.
Little sister Ava, who stays upstairs during filming because ‘it’s past her bedtime and we don’t swear around her’, finally comes downstairs- perhaps to get a glass of milk or something. We *finally* get to meet Scarlett’s mini-me.
Odds: 1/6.
5. A new enterprise.
She’s done books. She’s done radio. She’s done TV. What hasn’t she done?! Well, we know that Scarlett has been very open about her experience with lip fillers so perhaps Scar has taken a leaf out of Kylie Jenner’s book and launched her own lip kit or something of the sort?! We can dream, we can dream. Side note: Scarlett, please make em’ cheap as we’re probably gunna be ordering in bulk.
Odds: 1/30.
6. Scarlett…. QUITS?!
*Covers ears and retreats to duvet over the mere thought*. Perhaps Scarlett has done us dirty and JUMPED SHIP?! We just wouldn’t cope.
The Gogglebox star has spilled on exactly how she wants her big day
With her charm, wit and some *excellent* facial expressions,Scarlett Moffatt‘s become one of everyone’s favourite Gogglebox stars. She’s never afraid to express her thoughts, however left field they might seem.
But even aside from her opinions on the week’s television, she’s also has some extraordinary thoughts on weddings – namely, her own!
Now, before we all rush out to buy a hat, there are no plans for her to walk down the aisle quite yet – but she still has some ideas of what her perfect day will look like. In her very first book, Scarlett Says, she opens up about these plans – and we’ve broken down your essential need to know bits…
The proposal
Though this isn’t necessarily a factor of the wedding she can control, Scarlett’s made one thing clear to her prospective partner – if you propose on Valentine’s Day, Christmas, New Year or on her birthday, don’t expect a ‘yes’ answer.
‘I’ll say no because no thought would’ve gone into it.’ (*snaps fingers sassily*)
She continues: ‘I know I’m too picky but I want someone to put a proper effort in and surprise me.’
So, now he knows – no traditional proposal dates! Oh, and speaking of potential hubbies…
The groom
Though we know she’s loved up with her hairdresser boyfriend Luke Crodden right now, it seems as if Scarlett still has her sights set on another man.
‘I love Johnny Depp, so I could marry him,’ she writes.
Unfortunately for dear Scarlett, she’s a little late – he wed actress Amber Heard in 2015 (and then they had all that Australia doggy drama…awkward).
No worries though, as she’s already figured out a solution if he’s otherwise occupied: ‘The groom can dress up as him. But when he was in Edward Scissorhands, not when he looks like a wino pirate.’
The announcement
There’ll be no classic Beyoncé statuses for this Geordie lass: If I see one more status update saying, ‘He put a ring on it’, I’ll f*cking scream.
The venue
Nothing’s too out of reach for Scarlett:
‘If I marry someone rich, I want to arrive at the venue on a unicorn (when I say venue, I mean castle).’
But no worries for prospective suitors who aren’t as flush with cash, and friends with magical beings to rent a unicorn for the day – if she falls in love with someone with no much money, she’ll get married ‘in a registry office and then go to the pub.’
The theme
Fitting with her quest for a Johnny Depp-looking fella, she’s revealed that the preferred theme for her big day is none other than Willy Wonka – with the centrepieces as sweets and Munchkins as waiters. Why not?
The gift list
Last, but certainly not least – the pressies. Scarlett admits that aside from that everlasting love and commitment stuff, one of the main reasons she’d tie the knot would be for that amazing opportunity to score ALL THE GIFTS from your nearest and dearest.
‘I want people to buy me blenders and sh*t. I want a NutriBullet and that’s a great way to get one.’
To be honest, sounds like a pretty great idea.
